Meal Planning Not-Quite-Monday

Click here for more Meal Plan ideas :)

New flat and new routines mean that my meal plans will probably run from Tuesday instead of Monday as that is when I will get time to go do the weekly shop. It’s been a while since I was in the position of being settled enough in my own space to think about such things but it feels good to be back on it again.

I still don’t have a freezer so I’m definitely working on just fresh supplies for now – makes me plan even more carefully and thoughtfully! Lunch times are generally going to be sandwiches, jacket potatoes or cheese on toast and the rest of my plan is as follows:

Tuesday: Steak night at Wetherspoons – night off for me!

Wednesday: Sausage and sweetcorn pasta

Thursday: Spaghetti bolognese & garlic bread

Friday: Cajun Rice

Saturday:Roast Beef & Yorkshire Puds

Sunday: Picnic lunch (at Cosford Airshow) followed by a takeaway in the evening.

Monday: Off to Monday Night Snooker again this week so nothing planned for dinner as we will probably eat out.

Lessons In Life #39

Lesson #39

Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

Even if it’s just a walk round the block or to the shop to buy a bar of chocolate. I spent an awful lot of time cooped up inside when my depression first hit and it made the world very small and very dark. I didn’t realise this until I dragged myself out to the shop and then the world had been so far away for so long it was huge and scary and intimidating. But I felt like I could breathe.

Now I try and get outside every day, even when it’s raining and even if it is literally just for one minute. It’s worth it to share a smile with a passing neighbour, to hear the flurry of wings as a starling shoots past or get the whiff of approaching rain in the air.
